About Axial Arms
Axial Arms works with top manufacturers to produce the most functional direct impingement gas system for the AR platform. Our patented pinned tab gas block utilizes an easily removable mechanical connection in a low-profile design. Axial Arms pinned tab gas block provides the mechanical security of a permanently staked A2 front sight post but allows for the modularity of modern low-profile gas blocks that fit under free float handguards.
How It Works
The Axial Arms pinned tab gas block uses two cylinder-tipped set screws that seat into matching dimples in the barrel. The gas block has a slot that accepts a tab, which slides over the installed set screws keeping them physically locked in place and incapable of backing out. The cylinder-tipped set screws also act as a self-aligning mechanism, ensuring the gas block has to be properly aligned to fully seat the set screws. The tab is then pinned into the gas block body using a roll pin. The roll pin is the same diameter as the gas tube roll pin allowing for a single tool to be used to remove both. This tab design ensures a strong, consistent alignment, allowing gas to cycle the weapon reliably for continued operation.
